Ashfall (Ashfall #1)
by Mike Mullin
Under the bubbling hot springs and geysers of Yellowstone National Park is a supervolcano. Most people don't know it's there. The caldera is so large that it can only be seen from a plane or satellite. It just could be overdue for an eruption, which would change the landscape and climate of our planet.
Ashfall is the story of Alex, a teenage boy left alone for the weekend while his parents visit relatives. When the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts unexpectedly, Alex is determined to reach his parents. He must travel over a hundred miles in a landscape transformed by a foot of ash and the destruction of every modern convenience that he has ever known, and through a new world in which disaster has brought out both the best and worst in people desperate for food, water, and warmth. With a combination of nonstop action, a little romance, and very real science, this is a story that is difficult to stop reading and even more difficult to forget.

Thanks for the giveaway. I really don't know what I would do. Panic for sure then try to get my family out of there.
ReplyDeleteWell, if a super volcano erupted close to me, I'd hope that I had enough provisions in the house to last me until the initial ashfall stopped.
ReplyDeleteThen, I'd start making my way as far away from the volcano as possible so I could hopefully get to a place less effected by the disaster.
Thanks for the giveaway.
hhhm I think we already live something like that and I'm supossed is not funny and super dangerous.
ReplyDeleteI think I would run the other way haha...not sure to be honest.
The question is so close to home because it happened to us.One of the biggest volcanic eruption of the 20th century when MT. Pinatubo in the Philippines erupted. Right on the spot we were there. There was nothing anyone could do but to flee as far away as we can...on foot... just imagine a 6 year old girl walking in the flooded street as high as my chest with my family holding hands. We had to leave everything behind, our home, our things, our pets, carrying only ourselves and whatever clothes we were wearing that time. We temporarily lived in schools, tents and food was scarce. Relying on relief goods and donations from different groups of people. It was like we had to start our life all over again. That was exactly 20 years ago. And we survived!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I think I would froze xD I mean it, I couldn´t move and I think I would laugh because I always laugh when something super craze happends to me...
ReplyDeleteAnyway thank you so much for the chance to win♥
Oh gosh, that would probably cause earthquakes and tidal waves since I live in L.A. I would try to escape with my dog and significant other!
ReplyDeleteI would probably panic, then PRAY!
