(Honestly, it’s hard to give this one a spice rating when the whole book was basically on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ)

What in the hells did I just read?! ๐Ÿ˜ณ From the very start, I was like WHAT... NO... WOW. I was a total mess. Am I seriously sitting here reading this? And yet... I couldn’t stop. It became clear pretty quickly that this book is heavily spice-driven, which is fine—but the context of that spice? Just... I have no words

That being said, I didn’t stop reading for a second. I devoured this book in just a few hours. Part of my brain was like, "Why are we reading this?" and the other part was screaming "WOOOO keep going, this is wild!" ๐Ÿคฏ

Honestly, I started out totally shocked, blinking at the pages like “what am I even reading?” but I have to admit—it wasn’t a bad book at all. In fact... I kinda really liked it?? I don’t even know if it was the writing or the characters that pulled me in. I just feel like I got swept up in a hurricane ๐ŸŒช️ and thrown straight into a sexy fever dream ๐Ÿ˜ต‍๐Ÿ’ซ

There’s not much of a storyline—it’s mostly romance and HOT HOT HEAT ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ—but it worked. Which confuses my brain even more, because I feel like I was dazed and completely swept up in it all.

I did feel a little sad that the book ended so fast, especially without meeting the parents and tying off a few loose ends. I definitely would’ve liked just a bit more story. But overall? A fast, wild, spicy read I don’t regret at all!

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own and given honestly

Oh. My. God. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I feel like I was strapped into a roller coaster—my emotions grabbed and thrown through a windmill of feelings.

How can I sum up what I just read? One word: outstanding. If I could stand and slow clap for the author, I would ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. As I write this review, it’s 5AM. Do you think I could sleep? Nope. This book had me in a death grip, and I could not put it down until I had basked in the entire thing.

Where do I even begin?

The writing style was fantastic and easy to read. I did have a small issue with a sudden transition near the start that felt a bit jarring—but honestly, that’s my only complaint.

The level of detail and the raw, clear portrayal of loss and grief had me ugly sobbing ๐Ÿ˜ญ. It pulled up memories of my own losses, and I felt the grief like it was my own. The author nailed it.

Then came the mystery and the heat—it felt like a murder mystery one moment and a teen drama the next, but the way it all flowed together was flawless. I was completely drawn into the details of the undersea world like I was being called by sirens myself. I was happy to be lost there... and miss sleep because of it.

The overall atmosphere was epic—a rich mix of deep emotions, unspeakable secrets, and the unknown. It wraps you in a tight grip and refuses to let go.

One of the best things about this book? I’ve never read anything like it. It was so, so, so well done. Even with its intricate storyline, it had a beautiful slow burn, a strong sense of longing, and a perfect level of spice ๐ŸŒถ️ that never overshadowed the heart of the story.

Would I recommend it?
Hands down, YES. It’s a brilliant book and a must-read.

Would I read it again?
Absolutely! This is a new fan favorite for me ๐Ÿ’–

How would I sum it up?
A very different, emotionally rich, late-night read that blends mystery, fantasy, grief, and heat into one unforgettable ride. A perfect mix of emotion, story, and spice that’ll keep you up all night

This is Book Two in the Monsters of Saltford Bay series. While I have read the first book and totally loved it ๐Ÿ˜, I was hot on the heels of wanting to read Book Two. But don’t worry—you don’t need to have read Book One to know what’s going on here. That said... you are missing out if you skip it. Book One is so good! Now, onto my review

Thank you to the author and BookSirens for providing me with an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own and given honestly

The author writes in such a way that reading is super smooth and easy. Once I start reading, I don’t want to pause or take a break. I feel this deep need to just sit down and devour the book—it’s so easy to get lost in and wrapped up in the story.

I was devastated to see that this book was shorter than Book One ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Like, why do this to me?! The book could’ve been double the size and I’d have been over the moon. But that being said, I was shocked by how well-paced it was. It didn’t feel rushed, and the events were spaced out well, even with the smaller page count. I was honestly impressed! Still... I’m begging the author: more pages next time. I need them. I need them. Sobs dramatically. ๐Ÿฅน

The story is just amazing. It’s part fantasy, but wrapped in events that could happen in real life, which makes it all the more relatable. Yet, it still completely feeds your fantasy needs. I loved the entire storyline. And ugh... I wanted to slap Delilah. Her character made me so mad! But that just shows how well the story is written—it made me rage outside of the pages. I truly felt for the characters.

I wanted to wrap Nina in a big hug and tell her it’s going to be okay. I loved the details about the library and what it meant to her. When I was younger, I wanted to work in a library too—and I was so sad when that didn’t happen. So now? I’ve basically made my house a library. I totally related to her. She’s both strong and soft—just a fantastic lead.

And Kraxon... whew ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ. He had me reaching for ice water and blushing. Butterflies? Oh yes. I loved getting dual POVs. The author writes male characters SO WELL—they make you swoon and giggle and blush. It’s everything.

Now, for the spice:
Since the book is shorter, there’s really just one long spicy scene—but it’s so well done. I felt the secondhand heat. It made me blush, but didn’t overwhelm the book or take away from the story. The attraction and connection are felt, and the story carries you like you’ve grown wings . My only complaint is that the book was so short—but honestly, I can’t hold that against it. It was so well done that it still totally earned 5 stars.

Would I recommend it?
YES YES YES!!! Go get it! Join me in my happy little corner of joy.

Would I read it again?
Totally! I’d reread both books in less than 24 hours. No hesitation.

How would I sum it up?
A book full of feels from start to end. A story of community, love, support, and healing. Like a quick, warm hug with a little heat sprinkled in ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ”ฅ. A perfect mix of fantasy and relatable moments that’ll keep you hooked!

This book gave me so many butterflies and had me giddy and smiling like a fool. I don’t even know where to start, but the book from the get-go just swept me away. It had such a smooth and easy introduction—not just into the world, but into getting to know the characters.

I loved the dual POVs. Being able to see into both of their minds gave such a beautiful view into their feelings and personalities that I couldn’t stop grinning. The warmth and chemistry between the characters was so well-written, I honestly started to wonder if I was falling in love myself.

There was a perfect balance between spice and story, and I was totally engaged the whole time. The emotional depth hit hard too—so many relatable moments that reminded me of my own family, past loves, and personal experiences.

I keep trying to find a fault—something I didn’t like—but honestly... I can’t. The book was just so warm, easy, and satisfying that I flew through it in no time. I didn’t want to sleep until I knew how it ended. If I had to give one remark, it would be this: I wanted more. I needed to stay in their lives longer, to bask in the sweetness and gasp at the drama just a little while more.

I love when a book completely blows me away—and this one did. I’m beyond happy I read it.

Would I recommend it?
Absolutely. Get this book. You need it—it’s a must! ✅

Would I read it again?
I plan to. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

How would I sum it up?
A sweet, heartwarming read that wraps you in a hug and leaves you grinning. A story that makes you want to curl up, drift away, and bask in the warmth.

I slipped into the book pretty quickly — the writing style made it easy to fly through, and I finished it within just a few hours. Overall, I really liked the storyline. It was a fun, easy read, and I found characters I liked and wanted to read more of… and others I would’ve happily thrown into a pit of sharp, pointy sticks ๐Ÿ—ก️๐Ÿ˜ค.

It was a nice read. Was it the best I’ve read? No — but that might be because the story felt a little rushed in places. There were moments where I felt like more detail and explanation could’ve really elevated it. I disliked a certain male character’s behavior and actions at times, but I let it slide as I kept reading.

Right now, I sort of liked Kieran best throughout the book, mostly because he was just… it ๐Ÿ’‍♂️. His behavior and kindness stood out.

I do feel there could’ve been more to the book — and that would’ve made a good book truly great. But honestly? It was a solid OK/good read. Would I reread it? Maybe not. But am I glad I read it? Yes, absolutely ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Sweet with a touch of heat and a whole load of adventure.

So, I wanted to read this book before it was released, but I hadn’t gotten the book yet. One of my closest friends read it and was like, “ANN, READ IT.” Clearly, my friend has amazing taste — and the moment I could, I dove in.

From the first page, the book was super easy to get into. The writing made reading feel effortless, and I flew through the pages once I started. While the writing was amazing, it was the characters that truly hooked me. I loved the detail and history we learn about Guinevere and Oskar. I adored watching their interactions, how they viewed each other, and how that shifted over time — it had me totally gripped.

I was worried when I saw the book wasn’t super long — would I have loved a 500-page version? Hells yes. But the author wove something truly magical, and every page impressed me.

I don’t want to give too much away, but there were two big moments in this book that had me in tears. They related so deeply to my own life — to loss and growing up with a troubled family — and it always shocks me when a book can pull something from inside you like that. It made me feel even more connected to the characters.

I'm a massive fan of D&D and Critical Role, but honestly, even if I had never heard of either, I would have still loved this book entirely on its own merits.

This story is about growth and becoming your truest self — about not hiding, not performing, but simply being who you are. It’s about freedom, and not being afraid of it. It was so beautiful. Yes, there is spice, but it’s not overdone or there just for the sake of it. It blends perfectly with the story and adds depth, not distraction.

If I had to sum this up, I’d say it’s a sweet and spicy read full of heart, soul, and adventure. ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ“š

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Ok, where do I start? First off, I really like the writing style — how it was written was smooth and easy to read. It really surprised me when I started how easily I just slipped into the book, and I loved getting to see the two POVs in the story. Sometimes when I’m reading a book and there are too many POV switches, it can get confusing and frustrating, but nope, that did not happen here. There were only two POVs, and it was so amazing getting a clear view and understanding of who you were reading about. It was just so easy to read that honestly, I zoomed through the book within a few short hours. I normally know how much I’ll like a book by how fast I read it, and I ate this book up like I was starving.

Now, the storyline in the book is easy to follow and not overly complicated like some books where you have to reread parts and take notes. Not this one! It was beautifully clear and had me totally invested in what was going on, feeling emotional and even sad for the characters. If a book makes me feel things, I know it’s good. The world is great — not over-detailed to the point where it’s complicated and makes you dizzy trying to follow, but still so nicely done that my brain could visualize it and get swept up in the story.

If I had to pick something that really made this book outstanding, it has to be how the author wrote family. I have read many books where the family part is either barely touched on or just a few words between characters, but this author really outdid themselves and gave me such warmth and a big smile with the interactions and how loved ones dealt with things. I was left feeling overwhelmingly happy. ❤️๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ‘ง‍๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Overall, I could not have asked for a better book. I loved everything about it, and in truth, I normally try to find things I don’t like, but it was really hard. There was detailed spice, but it did not overtake or overshadow the storyline. There was a mix of different elements going on that added to the story without bogging it down. If I had to be really nitpicky and find one thing I didn’t like, it might be the time jumping, but even that was so well done and clear that I knew what was happening, so I can’t even complain about that. So, I totally have to give this book 5 well-earned ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

Anyone who likes a smooth, easy read that has enough going on to keep you gripped and smiling like a fool at 3am, and kicking your feet while blushing over breakfast — this is for you! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ“–☕️

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Let me start by saying I have not read any other books by this author before, so I had no idea about the world it was based in — it was all totally new to me.

To say this book was dark would be an understatement. I love a dark read and morally grey men like a lot of readers do, but DAMN, this was dark. I hate, with a deep hate, the mistreatment of people — it’s a massive off-putting thing for me as a reader. So I was shocked to find that not only was this book well-written enough to keep me reading and wanting to learn more about this well-detailed, horror-filled world I found myself in, but the layers and everything going on left me both intrigued and rage-filled.

Maralla — I love her strength and the light she shone on this book. I felt like she was so, so needed, and it made swallowing all the harshness of this world a little easier, really. I wanted to burn the whole world down ๐Ÿ”ฅ and my list of people I wanted to watch die was so long I might need to invest in a notebook ๐Ÿ“. But that being said... there was so much going on and a clear view of the horror of this world, its views, and how it treated its people — I was horrified and wishing I could just eliminate the problem and make it all better.

I felt conflicted about Mascha as a person, and it made me feel dizzy ๐Ÿคฏ, but it was so, so, so well written and put together that I could only imagine the time and thought put into it. I would say the ending left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth — mostly because I wanted a massive turnaround or something — but that being said, it was not a bad ending at all.

To sum up the book, I would say it’s dark and deeply rich in the world it weaves. It will have you pulling at your own hair, wishing you could push your own will into the book and bring a little light for those that should have it. I feel like some people might have trouble with a LOT of the content, so checking trigger warnings is a must ⚠️. But clearly, the book was a massive labor of love on the author’s part, and while it’s not sunshine and rainbows, it does pull you in and make you question everything.

I know a LOT of people totally love this, and while the premise of the story is really great, I really struggled at first to get into the book. I normally devour books quickly, but starting this one, I struggled—like, really struggled. I wasn’t sure if it was the writing style or just that it didn’t grab me, but I worked through it. I started to like it a little more as the story progressed, and the spice was definitely there. However, I didn’t love the book; I liked it, but I didn’t feel really connected to it, if I’m being honest. It’s sad because there were lots of layers in the book, lots of mystery, and interesting things going on, but ugh... I just couldn’t, for the life of me, get into it. It’s sad, but it happens. I didn’t dislike the book at all, but I don’t think I would choose to reread it.

Holy moly! ๐Ÿ˜ณ What a fantastic read! ๐Ÿ‘ Where the hell should I start? I feel totally lost for words. The story in this book is just spectacular!! I love the struggles and the desire to push forward and protect. The view of family life that is not always conventional—family comes in many forms and dynamics. The strong female lead was super enjoyable, but she was by far not perfect and made rash and stupid choices that had me pulling out my hair.

I had feelings for a person in the book, and I felt like I was going mad, wondering if maybe I was being mean because I felt distrust and icky about them—but that’s what good books are about: reading, getting lost in its words and its world, questioning everything you thought was true, and being left speechless and wanting more.

I absolutely ๐Ÿ’ฏ was gripped by this book and its characters—for better or worse. The things I didn’t like about this book didn’t make me dislike it; they were told in such a way that added to the big wow at the end. The spice in this book is sprinkled throughout, but honestly, I was more in love with the story and what was going on than the smut side, which really shocked me.

I absolutely love the direwolves in this world ๐Ÿบ, and enjoyed learning about the world the author wove and created into such a lush and brilliant fantasy realm. I would have loved to see more use of power and more combat scenes ⚔️. I felt the book had so much to give, and it hit all the right spots for me—even my epic rages and screaming at the lead seemed worth it for such a great start to a series.

Fantastic! I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait for the next book. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ”ฅ

It’s a pretty short first book, so it didn’t take long to read. While the premise of the story is really cool, I felt like it sort of missed the mark. There were parts I liked more than others, but I had major issues with the pacing. The way our lead did some things felt too fast — I expected more internal thought or hesitation, which left me feeling kind of meh about it. ๐Ÿ˜•

There is spice, but again, I didn’t really feel much for it — it was like going through the motions without any real emotional pull. Maybe it was the way it was described? I’m not sure. It just didn’t draw me in the way I hoped.

I did enjoy a few moments, but sadly, there were more things I didn’t like than things I did. I’m still deciding if I’ll read the next one or not. ๐Ÿค”

I was recommended this book by a friend, and I was a little unsure at first—but wow, I am so glad I read it.

To start with: what a hell of a story! A world of humans and demons can be hard to make feel fresh after so many books portray it this way and that, and honestly, I thought there were no new ways left to make it unique. But this? This was fantastic. I was sucked in pretty much from the first word.

I really loved learning and getting to grips with everything going on. While the book is on the darker side and pretty open about it… it didn’t feel that dark while reading, which is kind of wild considering what actually goes on in the story.

The SPICE in this book was GIVING inferno—I honestly thought I might catch on fire! But weirdly, despite how many spicy parts there were, it didn’t feel like that was all there was. There was a great balance of story and spice.

Call me crazy, but I couldn’t help but feel for the characters—seriously, I got butterflies of my own. Orpheus? I couldn’t help but totally love him. It was easy to fall down that rabbit hole… and before you knew it, you were too far gone to turn back.

If you love monster spice books, this is a big must-read. Fantastic read, and I’d totally read it again in a heartbeat.

Wow, what an epic ending!!! I ate this series up like it was my first meal in days. This is the last book in the series, and I was not disappointed at all. There was a really cool story throughout all the books, but the last one truly captured so much more giving you a real look not only at the current problems, but also a glimpse into the Vrix people at the heart of the whole thing.

I was totally pleased with how much was packed into this book the action, the growth and it left a warm feeling inside. Watching the struggles and changes unfold, I felt it in my own heart. I was gripped totally gripped!

And yes, of course, there’s spice in the book three longer scenes dotted throughout but honestly, while I loved the spice, I was completely enthralled by the story itself. Book 3 is by far my favorite of the trilogy, and it just left me really wanting more.

The ending was just chef’s kiss!! Loved it. I would totally recommend this series to others with the same easygoing taste in books as I do.

Oh my gods!! I mean, I was sort of worried this wouldn’t be as good as the first but shockingly, I was totally wrong. Not only that, but now that I know the layout of the worlds and their people, I felt like I could understand more and get a better grasp on the story.

The ending had me twisted up, sobbing, screaming, and so ticked off like why?? But I know why… and it was amazing and heartbreaking. I just wanted to slap a Vrix across the face and murder another, but wow it had me on the edge of my seat, pulling at my hair, wide-eyed.

There’s spice dotted throughout the book I think about three longer spicy parts and they’re really good! It fits with the story and is just so well done. I honestly didn’t think I’d become this invested in the series, but I am so ready to run to the third book!

I am not a fan of spiders in fact, they scare the hell out of me. It's an ongoing joke in my house that I would throw a match at my house to kill a spider rather than get near one. So, I was totally unsure and a little apprehensive about reading this book at all.

That being said, going into the book was a little overwhelming at first. There was a lot of worldbuilding happening right away, and I felt a bit out of my depth with so much thrown at me at once. But I think around the 10% mark, I found my footing and from there, I was sailing.

I really enjoyed the story and the interactions between Ivy and Ketahn, and seeing this world unfold I all but ate it up. I also hated the queen with a fiery passion that had me grinding my teeth and silently wishing she'd fall into a death pit. But honestly, it all worked to make the book that much better.

There were moments I was holding my breath and groaning, and others times where It was just the MML and FML, and i was completely giddy, biting my lip, and full of hope.

I’d say the spice isn’t the main focus, but there’s a steady undercurrent of tension throughout the book. The real spice hits around the 80% mark, and while it doesn’t overwhelm the story, it’s definitely not lacking or short.

Overall, I really liked the book and would absolutely read it again. I’m planning on diving into the second book soon though I’m a little worried about what’s coming next.

Totally surprised and super pleased with this one! ๐Ÿ•ท️ (even with the spiders... shudders)

This book had me howling with laughter one moment from all the banter, then clutching my heart at the longing and tension. I was on the edge of my seat, completely unable to stop listening. And then… the spice. The spice doesn’t really kick in until the second half of the book, so you’d think it might feel rushed or flat but NO. Lords, no! The spice had my heart pounding, my face blushing, and my fan working overtime. Absolutely amazing.

I loved the storyline it was just so much fun and totally enjoyable. I listened non-stop all night and well into the morning until I passed out, feeling blissfully satisfied.

Book 3 of The Hunted Omegas series.
I don’t think I liked this one as much as I liked book 2. Right now, book 2 is still my favorite. I’m not really sure where to start, so here goes...

I didn’t enjoy the back-and-forth dynamic in this book it got old pretty fast and left me feeling kind of meh at times. While there was a lot happening story wise and in terms of overall plot progression, I felt like the romance in this one just left me feeling... off. Something about it felt confusing and borderline dysfunctional.

Instead of feeling excited or getting that fluttery-stomach feeling, I was left uneasy and kind of underwhelmed by the relationship aspect, which is surprising because I’ve liked all the characters across the series so far.

What I did enjoy was the action and how the story continues to grow. With each book, more pieces of the puzzle fall into place, and I love watching the characters grow and become stronger. That said, I can’t give this book more than 3 stars, mainly because I don’t think I’d ever reread it.

But I’m really glad I got through it!

Fated to the Feral Wolf (The Hunted Omegas #2) Fated to the Feral Wolf by April L. Moon review

Book 2 of the series, and I think I might have liked this one even more than the first. You get more of the storyline unfolding and more action taking place, whereas book one felt like it was mostly stuck in one place.

While this book follows two new characters (not the same ones from book one), you’re still actively seeing and following the original characters—just from a different point of view, which I really enjoyed.

It was a quick, easy read but with more story than the first book. There is spice in this one, but I felt like it was a little less than the first, or maybe it just seemed that way because there were more plot elements going on at the same time.

I’d say if you’re looking for a deep, emotional read, this might not be for you. But if you’re after something quick, fun, and enjoyable, this series might be just what you need.

Fated to the Wolf Prince by April L. Moon review

I think I really needed this book after the last book I read tore my soul out. It was so nice to fall into a story that just wrapped me up and felt easy to read—something that hit all the right spots without too much drama or questionable choices.

The storyline in this book is pretty simple and easy to follow. Not a whole lot really happens—so if you’re looking for a deep, impactful plot, this might not be the one for you. But if you want something light and a little fluffy at times, this is definitely more your vibe. Don’t get me wrong, there is stuff happening, but nothing really gets resolved. It felt like some things were opened up and just... left open. But since it’s part of a series, I’m guessing those loose threads will get picked up later.

Honestly, I didn’t read this one for the story. I just needed a break from books that leave me broken-hearted and raging and this one thankfully left me feeling happy.

I debated whether to give it 3 or 4 stars, but I settled on 4. It was super easy to read, didn’t take long to finish, and had a good amount of spice without going over the top. The story kept me interested enough to avoid boredom. Would I read it again? Maybe. And the fact that I feel like picking up the next book makes me believe it was worth the 4 stars.

Shadows So Cruel (Court of Ravens, #2) Shadows So Cruel by Liv Zander review

Shadows So Cruel (Court of Ravens, #2)Shadows So Cruel by Liv Zander
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ (2 stars)

What can I say... I was hopeful—maybe at the beginning—that I would feel differently about book two than I did about book one. While the first book had me questioning my own mental state, this one… left me feeling cheated by how it all ended.

Like with the first book, there’s so much going on that made me want to scream and punch something—but I can’t deny it’s well written and super easy to get sucked into. Still… there was one shining light in this books, the thing that helped me get through book one and most of book two. And when that little light was taken from me, I raged. I felt empty and upset.

I’m all for character growth, forgiveness, and the idea that two wrongs don’t make a right, but AHHH, I’m so deeply mad about how this one made me feel. By the end, some chapters became almost impossible for me to read without wanting to throw my Kindle at the wall. If I had a paperback copy, I probably would’ve burned it in total rage.

I know not every book is for everyone—we all have different things we love or hate—but I was just so ticked off. If I had even the slightest idea of the ending or what was coming, I honestly don’t think I would’ve picked up these books. My mental health and heart would have been better off.

I cried. I was upset. I was mad. I literally just finished it, and my brain is still all over the place.

Would I read it again? HARD NO.

I’m going to post this review and go find some cute puppy videos to watch… maybe grab a whole tub of ice cream for my poor broken heart and to cool my rage. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ”ฅ

Feathers So Vicious (Court of Ravens, #1)Feathers So Vicious by Liv Zander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ (Hardest stars of my life)
๐ŸŒถ️๐ŸŒถ️๐ŸŒถ️๐ŸŒถ️๐ŸŒถ️ (I don’t even know…)

I am a hot mess of total confusion. Do I love this book? Do I hate it? Most of the time, I was just wishing everyone was dead or punished or both. I honestly have no clue how to feel. It was like being on a roller-coaster where the track ends and you’re just free-falling toward your own doom.

There’s a lot and I mean a lot that I really hated in this book, mostly because of the characters' actions. I won’t spoil anything, but wow... still, I kept reading. Confused, frustrated, horrified yet unable to stop. I feel so messed up. Should I give it 1 star? Or 5? The whole thing had me hooked, and it was... ughhhhh. I don’t know. I’m emotionally wrecked.

Now, the story itself is woven really well. But it is dark. Like, pitch-black-no-light kind of dark. The characters’ choices had me spinning in circles, cursing out loud, and questioning everything. And yet… maybe a dark little part of me was intrigued to see where it all was heading.

Honestly, I don’t think a book has ever messed me up like this before. I feel like I just lived through a traumatic event and crawled out the other side dazed, confused, and somehow still needing more. I can’t give it a 1 or 2 star because I do plan to read the next book… but I also can’t give it a 5 without questioning my own mental health. ๐Ÿ˜‚

All I can say is: this book shocked me. It gripped me.
If you love DARK DARK stories this is totally for you.
But if you prefer your books on the lighter side? Don’t even pick this up.

The Robin on the Oak Throne by K.A. Linde review

The Robin on the Oak Throne (Oak & Holly Cycle, #2)The Robin on the Oak Throne by K.A. Linde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ 5 out of 5 stars
I received a teaser of The Robin on the Oak Throne from the NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This is book two in a series, and I haven’t read the first book, so this review is based on the first 8 chapters of the second, from someone who has only just discovered this series.

First off, the book jumps right into it no slow, baby-step build-up, and thankfully no long-winded info dump that would have bored me if I’d been hit with a wall of facts from the previous book. Even without reading The Wren in the Holly Library, the opening eight chapters felt snappy and clear. No confusion, just solid storytelling. The author smoothly eases you in, giving just enough backstory without overwhelming you—which is perfect when you’re coming in fresh. (I’ll definitely be reading this series now—I have to!)

Right away, I felt the sass and witty banter, and it was fantastic! I just wanted more... eight chapters were not enough. I wanted so much more. So yes, book one and book two are now sitting on my shopping list waiting for me to hit “buy.” the moment book 2 is out.

(The Kingdom Below, #1) A Darkness So Sweet by Emma Hamm review

A Darkness So Sweet (The Kingdom Below, #1)A Darkness So Sweet by Emma Hamm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Totally earned 5 stars
๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ (I was torn between giving it a 3 or a 4 on the spice scale)

I devoured this book like it was my favorite snack. I loved the build-up in this one. There was no rushed sprint to the finish line, no “Hi, what’s your name?” Straight into Spiceville where the plot comes second to the steam. This had a real story, slow progression (not to slow), character development, and growth that kept me hooked.

Don’t get me wrong, the spice was not lacking. Absolutely not. In fact, it had me reaching for ice water and a fan! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Now, I’m not usually into troll stories or books, but this one had me by the throat in a good way. I’d say this book is perfect for anyone who enjoys equal parts, story, and spice, not just a sprinkle of plot on their steam. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For me, this was perfection, and I’d totally read it again!

The Wolf King The Wolf King by Lauren Palphreyman review

The Wolf KingThe Wolf King by Lauren Palphreyman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Totally earned five stars
๐ŸŒถ️๐ŸŒถ️ 2 on the spice scale

First off, massive bravo! Easy five stars.
I was hooked pretty much from the first chapter. I loved the world-building, and I ate up all the banter like a kid at Christmas. The story was so easy to read, with lots going on, but not to the point where I felt like I needed a notebook and a satnav just to follow it.

I was up until 4 a.m. devouring the book like my life depended on it. By the end, I was a shocked, sweaty mess, desperate for another chapter or even just one more page because I didn’t want it to end. And by the gods, that ending was amazing. It left me with a deep, aching need to read book two.

There is spice in the book, mostly in the second half rather than the first. But I didn’t feel let down not at all. The story and its easy, engaging flow had me as happy as a sunbeam.

BrideBride by Ali Hazelwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was up all night reading this book I finally went to sleep around 5:30 a.m., set on finishing it.

I was unsure whether to give it 5 stars or 4. I really liked the story—I did! But I sometimes had trouble with the writing style or something about the way it was written. It made me feel a bit off at times, like I was struggling to stay fully immersed. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it—something just felt missing. Still, the story itself was really enjoyable, and overall, it was an easy read.

As for spice: the first half of the book has none. So if you're looking for something fully spicy, this might not be for you. But in the second half, things definitely start to heat up, though it never becomes the focal point of the story.

Feral Omega (Ghost Alpha Unit, #1) By Lenore Rosewood review 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Feral Omega (Ghost Alpha Unit, #1)
By Lenore Rosewood

Where do I start? The spice in this book is fantastic, but it’s not the whole story—there’s a dark, lush, and intriguing plot woven in that completely pulls you in. You find yourself getting lost in the mystery, asking What happened? Why is he like this? What made her this way?

It’s such a fantastic start to the series, and I devoured the whole book in hours, completely unable to sleep because I just needed to keep reading.

Wraith has to be my favorite—I don’t even know how to put it into words. My heart bleeds for him, and I desperately hope he gets the warm love and sunshine he needs and deserves.

Hands down, a magnificent first book!

5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

That Time I Got Drunk And Saved a Human (Mead Mishaps, #3) by Kimberly Lemming. Easy 4 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the last book in the Mead Mishaps series. I totally loved it, but I felt like I didn’t enjoy it as much as books one and two. There was a little less spice and maybe a bit more story, but I also felt like a few things were left unaddressed, which bugged me a little.

That said, I absolutely loved the leading characters, the banter, and how much I laughed and giggled. Overall, the Mead Mishaps series was fantastic, and because each book isn’t super long, it didn’t take me long to read them all.

Easy 4 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ

Easy 5-star ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ read! This book is not just funny—it’s hilarious! The spice in this story gets your heart racing. The storyline is lighter and not as plot-driven as the relationship side, which, surprisingly, I didn’t mind.

I found Felix absolutely adorable—I got major golden retriever vibes from him. Brie was epically amusing and sassy. It was a quick, easy read that left me feeling warm and happy inside.

Lights Out by Navessa Allen (Audiobook) review ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ
There are a few books that leave me questioning:
A) What did I just read/listen to?
B) Why, in the good gods, did I like it so much?

I felt like I listened to something so spicy it might burn my skin off—or leave me red-faced while sitting on the train with my headphones in. The narrators of this book deserve a pay raise, no question. And the number of times I burst into giggles at the banter or the inner monologue from the leads? Too many to count.

I’m not really sure how to sum up or explain why I liked it so much, but it was funny, dark, and absolutely packed with spice. Well, worth the time, whether you’re reading or listening!

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming

How to sum up this book? Short, sweet, and dirty.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book, but wow—did it exceed my expectations! Super funny, with an FMC who was witty and amusing. While she doubted herself, she was braver than she thought.

The ๐Ÿ”ฅ heat in this book by the halfway point was nice. While I’ve read books with a lot more spice, I have to say this one had just the right amount, balancing the story and spice well for such a short book.

I can honestly say I was impressed and could see this making it onto my reread pile. A must-read for anyone looking for a short, fun fantasy read with spice and laughs!

Easy 5 stars ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒŸ
