Jump When Ready Blog Tour

Welcome to best book's stop on this tour.
Today we have a spotlight, excerpt and giveaway

Synopsis
Since he drowned, Henry has remained isolated with the same group of teenagers and he keeps wondering why. After all, what could he possibly have in common with a Mohawk-sporting punker from the 80s, a roller skater from the 70s with a thing for kimonos, and an English “rocker” from the 60s? Henry can hear the other groups but he never sees them. Soon, Henry learns that his new friends all possess unique skills for making themselves noticed by the living. Is Henry’s group kept isolated because of their abilities? If so, are they considered gifted or seen only as a potential bad influence?
Before Henry can reach any conclusions, he witnesses his sister being kidnapped. He knows who did it, where she’s being held and what will happen if the kidnappers don’t get what they want. As the police chase false leads, Henry comes to realize that he’s his sister’s only hope. But for Henry to even have a chance, he has to convince a group of teenagers that dead doesn’t mean helpless.

David Pandolfe has been a bartender in Seattle, the front man for an alternative rock band in Los Angeles and a college writing teacher in Richmond (among other things).
One day, it occurred to him that sometimes these experiences felt like completely different lives altogether. Which got him to writing Jump When Ready, a novel about of bunch of teenagers trying to get over their past lives while getting ready to jump into their next.
While he’s still writing about himself in third person, David Pandolfe should probably mention that at one point he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has had short stories published in Millennium and the Georgetown Review. Jump When Ready is his first YA novel but he’s currently working on another, to be released in the fall of 2013.

wrong kind of love by amanda heath release day blitz

Genre: Contemporary New Adult
The first time I ever saw Caden Harper I’m pretty sure I fell in love.
All that golden hair and pale blue eyes. He was mysterious and covered
in paint. I found it endearing and wanted nothing more than to find
out all his secrets. I gave that man things I would never give anyone
else. He blew it though. Which I shouldn’t be surprised considering he
is a womanizer.
So I moved on, well kind of. Jaden Harper wasn’t what I expected. I
found myself drawn to him all most as much as his brother. Maybe it’s
the fact they are twins or maybe it was the fact I wanted to live on
the wrong side for once in my life.
Now I’ve found myself dug deep in this game. Theres no end in sight
and I wonder when all the lies I have told will come back to haunt me.
Neither man should know the things I’ve gone through. Neither should
trust me. I’m not who I say I am. My past is full of things I won’t
ever share.
But where will that lead me when Caden wants nothing more than to
consume me? He won’t wake up to see he has the wrong kind of love.
My Name is Grace BreadField and this is my story.

TEASER:
*18 + warning for mature content. Unedited

"I don't know why I let Teagan talk me into coming to this club/bar/whatever. I hate crowds and being surrounded by a lot of sweaty people. I fight way through them looking for her and Declan on the dance floor.
Until this song came on.
You ever had that happened to you? One second you're minding your own business and a song comes on and changes your life. It says whatever you're thinking and feeling even if you didnt know thats what you were feeling.
My hips start to sway to the beat of the music. My hands go straight up in the air. My head rocking, my hair going everywhere.
"Cause you are the piece of me, I wish I didn’t need
Chasing relentlessly, still fight and I don’t know why..." comes Clarity by Zedd over this places speaker system.
I feel him with me. His body pressed to me, his arms around my hips. His lips whispering things in my ear, naughty dirty things. Things only Caden would say to me.
"If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?
If our love’s insanity, why are you my clarity?..." Who ever wrote this song gets it. They get what I'm going through.
I'm lost in this sea of people, none of them I know. I still feel the ghost of Caden with me. Its how I know what I'm doing. What pain I'm causing him. What pain I'm causing myself.
I feel like I need him every time I'm no where near him. I wish I didn't. I'm fighting him every time I see him. I don't know why. Our entire relationship was doomed from the beginning yet it fixes me. We are insanity, the way we are together. We shouldn't work but we do. And I see the clearest when hes around.
I feel tears falling down my face as I continue to dance. I sing the lyrics at the top of my lungs. I dont care who hears or sees. I need this right now.
And just like that I feel him. I stop moving and look up. My face is damp and pulled tight. I dont care who sees, I dont care who knows. Its like I finally opened my eyes. I've wasted hours, days, months, years...
I run through the crowd to him. My Caden. I'm about a foot from touching distance, reaching for his hand when Jaden steps in front of me."-Grace, Wrong Kind of Love

Synopsis
The End is only the Beginning....
It wasn't the first time Lieutenant Travis Daniels had been far from his wife and son. Leading an elite team on countless missions, dodging death at every turn-it was what he was trained to do. And returning to his family was always his driving force... but this time might be different. Imprisoned for an unsanctioned intrusion into a hot zone, Travis and his elite team took a deal to assist in the colonization of Mars to evade the death penalty. While stationed there, Travis' only source of sanity were the brief video conversations he was allowed with his family. When the last transmission received showed choppy images of the city in darkness and blurs of humanoid creatures running through the streets, Travis and his team must decide to either stay on Mars or find a way back to his family-unknowing of the hell that Earth has become.

My Review

Thank you to the author for sending me a copy in exchange for a honest review

First up this book had me hooked from the first chapter. The writing style I found quite unique, the descriptions of everything to the way the characters interact I loved.

The one thing that confused me to begin with was the multiple POV’s as I didn’t understand to begin with why there were these random characters, but as you read you realise why they are there.

Travis was a really good male lead, he was kick a** when he needed to be but at other times he really showed the human side to him.

Sent to mars for a unsanctioned trip to a hot zone (you do find out what happened) gets travis and his team sent to Mars to try and make it habitable for humans to live. While there travis and his team overcome many obstacles, including psychos, you have to read the book to find out more J

Annie is travis’s wife, she is left on earth while he is on Mars. Now this is one amazing heroine, she really takes charge of everything when things go wrong. Loved reading her chapters, cus shes not only looking after herself and her son but others as well and I think she does it really well.

There is one secondary character I must mention, Dasher. He is a criminal and I thought was just a common criminal but he turns out to be so much more than that and I found myself rooting for him to survive.

This book from the blurb sounded different, not my normal read. But It really surprised me how much I loved it, so much so that I had trouble putting it down. I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what happens.

If you love Sci-Fi and Horror books then this is definitely for you

While exploring the emotional depth of loss and transition to adulthood, Sanchez’s sharp humor and clever observations bring forth a richly developed voice.

Unknown by Melissa Pearl ~ review by alice ~

Unknown (The Elements Trilogy, #1)Unknown by Melissa Pearl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thank you to the author for providing me with a Earc in exchange for a honest review.
May Contain Spoilers, Read with Caution

I have loved every single one of Melissa pearls books that I have read, but I think Unknown is my fave. It had me hooked from page one with the Prophecy.
The world building, character building, and all the information given on the prophercy and gods was simply amazing. It was such a easy read. I loved how you got multiple POVs and now I know who to trust and who not too. The way this book is written has you basically unable to put it down, it leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat, rooting for your fave characters, yelling at others, and basically wishing the death on other ones.

When a star falls, it marks the beginning of the prophecy that will overthrow the darkness, it also needs two seekers to help accomplish this.

Princess Kyla is the only heir to the Taramon throne, you find out what happens to her siblings in the book, she is 16, headstrong, stubbon and lets nothing get in her way, she is totally kick A, I cant wait to see how her character grows in the next two books, she is betrothed to Athra. Im not sure if I like athra or not, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the next books. She is chosen as one of the seekers. I cant wait to read more of the journey kyla and the other seeker Jethro are on.

Jethro, he is also 16, has been kyla’s best friend for years, but once she became betrothed to his cousin, he distanced himself, which leads to a lot of arguments and fights between himself and kyla. He is in love with kyla, tho she doesn’t know it, but im pretty sure she has feelings for him too. I loved reading jethro, he is a awesome character. Cant wait to read more about him and see his character grow in the next books.

The two seekers go on a journey to find the four elements Earth, Water, Air and Fire. And I was completely blown away by what the elements are. It was a complete shock, tho Melissa is awesome for the shocks she does in her books, so I really shouldn’t be surprised

If you love this kind of book then definitely pick it up, you wont be disappointed. This is definitely my favourite by this author.

Author Info

I’m a New Adult Romance author who loves writing about what happens when love and dreams collide with the real world. I wrote my first novel, Dance for Me, in daily chunks in a very busy, very noisy coffee shop, which meant I had to order a black Americano every hour, on the hour, to keep my seat and wound up wired on caffeine most days. Unlike some of my characters, I can’t dance.

My Review

ChaseChase by Chantal Fernando
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off thank you to the authors for letting me BETA read this story.

One word is used to describe this book, AMAZING!!!!
It was so amazing that I have read it twice in the last week.
It starts off with layla looking for a place to stay, she ends up at jame’s and kade’s home who are looking for a flatmate. I must say that I love james and kade, they are awesome characters and totally swoonworthy, there were quite a few laugh out loud moments with them, and I cant wait to read their stories. Layla’s best friend Nikki is also another character that I cant wait to find out more about, same goes for layla’s cousin ryder, who also gets his own story, it will be interesting who ends up with Nikki, will it be kade, ryder or james, OR will the authors go In a completely different direction, I for one cant wait :)

Onto the main man Chase, he is swoon worthy, hot and a wicked character that I loved to read bout. He has his secrets and that does make layla pissed at him quite a bit, expecially when there is a EX of his trying to drive a wedge between them.

I loved the writing style of this book, it was so easy to read and had me hooked from the first chapter, and I couldn’t put it down as I wanted to know what happened next. I loved how for layla and chase everything is tied up and done with in the one book, it’s a nice refreshing change than having it dragged out to a series. I know we will catch up with them in the other guys books so its not as if its goodbye. I loved the ending, thought it was perfect.
I cant wait to see where the authors take the other guys stories, and what happens, if anything with layla and chase in the rest of the compainion novels.

If you love contemporary romance books then this one is definitely for you. If you love hot, tattooed males in your books then it will be right at the top of your wishlist.
