(The Kingdom Below, #1) A Darkness So Sweet by Emma Hamm review

A Darkness So Sweet (The Kingdom Below, #1)A Darkness So Sweet by Emma Hamm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Totally earned 5 stars
🌢🌢🌢 (I was torn between giving it a 3 or a 4 on the spice scale)

I devoured this book like it was my favorite snack. I loved the build-up in this one. There was no rushed sprint to the finish line, no “Hi, what’s your name?” Straight into Spiceville where the plot comes second to the steam. This had a real story, slow progression (not to slow), character development, and growth that kept me hooked.

Don’t get me wrong, the spice was not lacking. Absolutely not. In fact, it had me reaching for ice water and a fan! πŸ”₯

Now, I’m not usually into troll stories or books, but this one had me by the throat in a good way. I’d say this book is perfect for anyone who enjoys equal parts, story, and spice, not just a sprinkle of plot on their steam. πŸ˜‰

For me, this was perfection, and I’d totally read it again!
