Tyme's End by B.R. Collins guest reviewer Lucy D'Andrea

Tyme’s End by B.R. Collins

Title: Tyme’s End
Author: B.R. Collins
Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing PLC
Format: Paperback
Publication Date: January 3, 2011
Overall: 4/5
Source: Received for guest review.
Synopsis (Source: Goodreads): Bibi feels out of place everywhere - everywhere that is, except for Tyme's End, the deserted house that she breaks into when she thinks nobody is nearby. There she unexpectedly meets Oliver Gardner, the owner of the house, who's just returned after ten years away. Their story and the story of Oliver's grandfather becomes inextricably entwined, linked as they are by Tyme's End itself. For Tyme's End is more than just a deserted house. It is a house that by turns can be romantic, beguiling, sinister and malevolent. It is a house that had a cruel and manipulative owner. And anybody who enters Tyme's End must prepare themselves for terror ...Part mystery, part psychological thriller, set in the present yet with forays into the past, this is a cleverly ambitious novel that makes for a compulsive and gripping read.

 My Review:

First off I would like to thank the lovely ladies here at Best Books for giving me the opportunity to guest review Tyme’s End by B.R. Collins! *SQUEE!* Thank you!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The story begins in Bibi’s narrative view in present time. After the death of her birth parents, Bibi feels alone, as though she doesn’t belong anywhere. She wants everything to go back to the way they were. After escaping the home she shares with her adoptive parents in a small village, Bibi finds herself at the steps of an abandoned mansion, Tyme’s End. Things change the instant she arrives at Tyme’s End mansion, where she soon runs into the mansion’s owner, Oliver. Bibi and Oliver feel drawn to one another, which sparks a passionate relationship developed between the two characters throughout this part in the novel. She must convince Oliver to keep the old mansion, as she finally feels there is somewhere she belongs…
Switching over to Oliver’s point of view in the earlier years, where readers are given a glimpse of Oliver and his grandfather’s relationship. The time comes where dark hidden secrets are revealed..
Finally the story unfolds to Oliver’s Grandfather’s point of view in the year 1936. This is where he discovers the truth about the mansion, where its evil came from, beginning with its scheming owner H.J. Martin, and the events leading up to his murder…
My favorite elements of Tyme’s End are the mysteries that are unraveled throughout the novel. I also enjoyed the story being split into three different parts, going backwards in time to reveal the events that have occurred in those specific time periods. I personally enjoyed the latter parts of the novel, in the point of view of both Oliver and his grandfather.
B.R. Collins has brilliantly captured the essence of mystery and suspense within Tyme’s End. The alternating narrators present unique voices that lure you in. Readers are taken through a wonderful journey to the discovery behind the evil that lies within Tyme’s End mansion.   I was definitely intrigued by the history surrounding Tyme’s End mansion.
Readers will be captivated by the many unraveled secrets that lie hidden within the words of Tyme’s End. I recommend Tyme’s End to those who enjoy Young Adult Fiction, with Mystery, Suspense and a little touch of Romance.
4/5 – An Enjoyable Read, Well Written, Recommended
